Can't take lift to apex shuttle

Maybe I am missing something, but no matter if I book a long range or short range shuttle - I book it, it says shuttle is ready, departing in 5:00, I walk to the lift, Press E, but it only gives me the option to return to my own ships hanger? Help!

Yep. Three different sets of single purpose lifts, each requiring double confirmation that you did, indeed, intend to walk into the lift you're staring at. On the way out they're far less hesitant, however, as taking a lift to the concourse will get you clubbed and ejected if you don't step out within seconds.
