Horizons Can't update- "Failed to read from response stream. Network connection closed"

I have an error message when I try to update

"Failed to read from response stream. Network connection closed"

Grr... really looking forward to seeing the update to. Obviously can't play game in previous version either as requires update. Have restarted the launcher but no joy.

Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do?

Thanks,
Paul

Try again after selecting 'Alternative download method' under 'Options' in your launcher.

Tried that to, but I'm getting same message still. It seems to get to just before the end of the progress bar in minutes, then it sits there with 2 hrs showing, then gives the error. Tried it a few times over the day to no effect. any other ideas?

Search for any .part or .progress file in the installation directory and delete them, that should fix the problem.
I never had a problem with an update before, until today's 2.1.03. Your suggestion fixed whatever the problem was. Thanks!

FWIW: I found a 'data.ovl.part' and 'data.ovl.progress' and cut/paste them to my desktop in case I needed to put them back. I didn't, since removing them fixed the problem.

Have to say, neither the alternative download method nor the .part/.progress file removal method have worked for me. I'm basically stuck. Can't update due to "Failed to read from response stream. Network connection closed." Here's hoping this is down to "issues detected" on server and that it will resolve itself in due course.

Edit: OK, scratch that ... for me turning alternative download OFF was the fix (that and removing old .part/.progress files)

I just uninstalled the game and the launcher and then reinstalled them. Problem solved.
