Horizons cant update to version 2.2

cant update to version 2.2. I download all the new data then it says:


'Failed to read from response stream, network connection closed'


I am running it as administrator and have uninstalled and reinstalled launcher as administrator.
Nothing has changed on my laptop as regards configuration.


Please help. Thanks

I had this problem last night when I initially tried the 2.2 update and like a lot of others was getting really slow download speeds. I found a link with some possible solutions one of which was to clear your cache in Windows. What worked for me was a scan with CCleaner and I deleted everything it found. I rebooted my PC and tried the upgrade again and got a 125-160Mb/s download speed which finished and installed the update in less than 5 minutes. Apparently it is the update files you have already downloaded causing the problem and you have get rid of them all first hence the clear out of your cache, temporary files etc. You can of course do this in Windows using IE explorer but I feel CCleaner does a better job, good luck.

Had the same problem. Check your elite install dir, there should be a few files called *.progress. delete those and it should download the update.

Try this...

Open the Launcher and select Options from underneath your Cmdr name (top right corner)

Click on Alternative Download Method and see if that helps.
