Capital Ship Battles?

Greetings Commanders.

I'm probably being that guy who asks a question that has been asked hundreds of times already, but I can't find an answer.
How can I find upcoming capital ship battles? It looks like one of the most interesting combat related experiences a pilot can have on the verse,
so I definitely want to get in the middle of a few.

CMDR Cpt. Eradet.

I would also like to know this as well.

From what I'm told Hi-intensity is one condition (and I assume at least one of the warring factions being Fed/Imp ) and while I frequent only Hi-Intensity I have never seen a capital ship before. Is it only on wars and not civil wars? or what exactly are the other conditions?

I just flew in a CZ last night (Tsim Binba) when the capital showed up. Awesome! This battle was between Empire and Independent. Guess who the capital ship sided with? You're right - the Empire. Cuz the Independent faction couldn't afford one. Of course, being the loyal Imperial Citizen that I am, I sided with the capital ship. Made 1M in half hour.

Makes me wish some one made commercial models of those ships so I could hang them up in my nerd room, paint the ceiling to look like the black and throw in some LEDs on the ships and let that be my lighting for the room.

Edit: Love the Federal ships sooooooo much more than he Imp one. Its like a Battlestar was mixed with a Star Destroyer.

I can not tell the difference between Hi Intensity Conflict Zones and Low Intensity ones. I mean, they are killing the hell out of each other in both, and you can get your clock cleaned rather tidily either way. Also they both seem to pay the same so I wasn't aware of the actual difference.

I would imagine so back when I went to RES sites it was the same thing, high and low there wasn't a noticeable difference for me. I suppose I should of assumed the same with Combat zones but regardless I only jump on the High ones.

Last night I noticed a location "capital ship" in a system I was in. I am assuming that going to this you would see one.

This system also had a couple of "high intensity combat zones" as well.

I was in a T9 at the time so I didn't go check it out. So maybe you need to see "capital ship" not "high intensity combat zone" in your HUD to see a capital ship..

Was the first time I had seen it..

I've always figured those were just stationary ones in the sense much like the one in Sol is. I guess I'll keep an eye on that once I'm done trade grinding

I think one element missing from this battle is the two ships don't maneuver relative to each other. I'd like to see the capital ships sweeping past one another and trying to avoid each others' arcs of fire whilst lining up their own guns.

yea, it gets pretty lame to look at after while.

and maybe some long range engagements once in a while, maybe with big cannons and torpedoes.

So, the Federation and the Empire are not in an actual all-out war then? These are considered skirmishes? And factions can purchase their own capital ships? Wonder what the price tag on one of those babies would be...

Good information here thank you all.
I can't help but wonder why there are no battles with objectives like "Destroy Capital Ship" or disable the drive to be boarded by NPCs etc.
It seems to me like it would add a lot to the game, especially to people that think Star Destroyer battles every time they see a space game,
and not hard to implement.
