Hey guys, sorry if this isn't a new idea or if I do anything else wrong - I'm new around here.
I just saw my first capital ship the other day when I went to check out the community goal in Igorodimos, and after the initial awestruck moment passed and I'd spent some time blowing up enemy ships, I encountered the unfortunate circumstance of running out of ammunition for my multicannons. Of course, you can just shoot lasers instead of bullets, I know, but still.
Taking inspiration from Sector Z in Star Fox 64: what if you could temporarily dock, or at least resupply your munitions, in a capital ship? As in, you request resupply similarly to how you request docking from a station, and then fly inside the capital ship where you either scoop a munitions canister or are automatically re-armed similarly to how those luxuries traders will automatically take stuff from your cargo hold. The cost of munitions could be deducted from your bank balance, or it could just reduce your total combat bond earnings for whatever faction you're fighting for. I don't know how it would work if there were a lot of players in the instance (could get pretty crazy if a bunch of people were trying to do it all at once)... I guess it'd have to be a pretty quick process to get in and get out.
It probably totally defeats the purpose of having munitions at all if you can just buy them in the warzone instead of having to hop back and forth in supercruise just to get some new bullets. There's a lot of problems with it, I know, but I just thought it was a cool idea and wanted to share. Sorry for the long post!
