Horizons Capital ships in War zones.

Hey everyone, I used to see Capital ships in war zones (high) quite often, now i do not.
Have I missed something? They tried to make them move at some stage and youtube has them bugging out... so did they get taken away to be fixed?

No. If you see them "often" you were probably quite lucky.
They are kinda rare and only appear in wars where an influential superpower-aligned faction is involved.

That being said, I don't like them very much. They're filthy kill-thiefs!

I guess I'm lucky then. I see one about once p/week. I farm materials in CZs, so it's not terribly unusual. I usually leave due to lack of productive targets and Chris Simon's "filthy kill-thieves." I'll stay when just occasionally both federal and imperial capitals show up. It's a nice fireworks show, the first time one sees this. The target numbers are still low-ish, but the battle is more balanced; therefore less "filthy kill thievery."

I haven't seen a capital spin off into the wild black yonder at +600 mps, in some time now. I can only assume FDev was finally able to capture and incarcerate the Monty Python crews responsible for those "runaway tactics."

Edit: My home system is near the center of the bubble where most of the powers meet/overlap. It might be a good place to look for them and possibly a reason why I see them regularly.

Thank you everyone! I only fight wars for our own faction (which is empire) and we are in a war every two weeks or so and we used to see them. All good, we will keep fighting and checking!

Maybe now that dev gods started to put capital ships into strangest corners of the galaxy by hand, the Empire doesn't have enough of them to keep supporting your faction...

I was in Hollos last night. There was a high intensity CZ near Bingzhen Hub that had both Federal and Imperial capital ships. Thought you might like the heads up.

Don't mean to resurrect a thread that's more or less necro'd, but this seemed as good as any place to post. Tonight 2/9 as of 11pm EST (2 am UTC I think) in system CD-58 538, there are 3 CZs orbiting the planet that Hornby Station orbits. 2 zones have federal capitals and 1 has both Federal and Imperial capitals. The system is just about dead center of the bubble, about 60 Ly due south of Sol/Sirius. I've seen capitals in zones plenty. I've never run into a situation where they were present in that many and in such close proximity to one another. (I guess I shouldn't have let that war drag out for 2 weeks, lol) Anyway, thought I'd post in case anyone is looking for them.

I have had some mild luck getting Capitals to jump into a Distress Call USS after I defeat the first set (or two?) of baddies. It is a truly awesome event I must say.

Sounds about right. Can't be sure but that's probably what I would bother with in my Corvette, which is what I was in when it happened.

I believe those are almost always capital ship fights so keep an eye out for them!

If you really want capitals that badly...
About 2 weeks after my last post, there was a civil war going in my home system again. It's near the center of the bubble where most of the powers seem to meet or overlap. One of the factions was federal aligned. One was independent, but had a presence in a nearby system that was Imperial controlled. I kept that civil war going for more the 2 weeks, so I could farm mats. After 2 consecutive power play cycles, Farragut class AND Majestic class capitals were sent in to almost every CZ in the system. Which ever one I went to, it was a nice light show.
