I feel like a relative new boy to the game although I am not, but am pretty much a noob to the forums!! Anyway, I have still yet to see a capital ship myself in the game and this is the reason for my thread!! I guess part of the reason I haven't seen one in the flesh is as I still haven't got myself a Sol permit, despite having Achenar inside two weeks of playing, but I guess Sol is a tougher one to get as it should be. Aside from this, the point is that although I have seen a great number of capital ships in others' videos and screenshots, I have not yet seen one myself and am keen to find one - I think it is just one of those things in a game that I love like I do ED that I want to see for myself, if that makes any sort of sense?! I imagine that you dare not get too close to said ship else it will cook you, but I just want to take a bit of a 'tour' around its superstructure I think, as it will lend even more perspective to the scale of the ED game and universe, and make me just feel a bit happier in my enjoyment of the game. [I am realising though that I must sound like I am writing an Xmas list to Santa lol !!!]
On seeing in the CG thread that there were capitals in the Cayutorme system, I dashed over there for myself in lieu of doing a Guy Fawkes on an Epsilon Indi station! I somewhat naively only looked at the CZ that I first came across, namely that near the station in Cayutorme. Then a member in the CG thread said they has seen it near Cautorme A2 but it was a good few hours before I could get there, and by the time I did it had gone; either that or I managed to 'blindly see' only one CZ again.
So, first off and most obviously, can anyone tell me please if there is a capital ship or more than one in Cayutorme, and if so, does it come and go? I am not sure how much game time I will have tonight GMT or tomorrow, but it will be just my luck to miss any of it instancing. On that note too, are they affected by instancing, or even game modes, as I play 95% of my time in Mobius simply as I am not a PvP player right now, as I find myself lacking in enough skill for PvP, but I'm not going to pretend I am awesome and blatantly lie to you all!!
What is the best way to find capital ships outside of the CZs in this particular CG, as I never saw one in or around Achenar either, and I was there to bring in 'supplies' of dubious moral standings for the recent coronation
As I am currently locked from Sol, can anyone tell me the rank or next stage I need attain for Federation access please? I am Fed allied, as I am with the Empire and Alliance, but am currently only ranked in the Fed as Midshipman, so I think I am a few ranks away from a permit right now.
And finally, how many variants of the capital ships are there, and are there multiple types for each major faction? I saw a brief clip a few days back of capital ships from two factions having an old naval-type broadside battle, but the author said they warped out as quickly as they came in [IIRC this was in the UA thread].
So, please offer up any advice or suggestions, but no mean wild goosechase 'sightings', although if I were reading this thread I have no doubt that is what I would do to the OP!!! Any more information on the Capital ships would also be most welcome, as tbh the majority of information I have found even just doing a Google search links me to anecdotal references in threads here on the FD forums or on Steam. Please be kind enough to satiate the little boy inside me that wants to go and fly alongside one of these monster vessels, and make an older guy a bit happier!!
