An amazing game with so much potential! Definately a need for more mission variety though. As a player whose current playthrough is generally being a law abiding citizen, it seems a shame that most combat missions involve assassinating/killing a bunch of pirates etc. It would be interesting to have caputre missions. You could have a brig type modules, that like a refinery has more space for captured pilots as you go up in size, and capture limpets (perhaps attached to the said module), that can open a disabled ships cockpit and bring the captured pirate to your ship. It would give an interesting reason for "good" guy bounty hunters to focus on disabling ships rather than just blowing them up. You get more bounty for captured pirates rather than dead perhaps. And try and capture drug kingpins from their luxury liners. You could also hunt VIPs on Dolphins etc with escorts to caputre and ransom if you were a pirate. Rescue hostages perhaps. Not sure how to capture on foot, that might be more complicated. Perhaps there can be hidden pirate bases on planets in unoccupied systems. But as someone with an aversion to killing someone in cold blood (even anevil terrorist!) at a settlement, I have little reason to do ground missions (support missions rarely seem to be available), which is a shame 'cuz I like the ground stuff.
And on a side note of missions, strangers hanging around stations going "Hey you, I need someone assassinating/robbing/enter illegal action of choice here, fancy it? No? How about you? Or you? What, you're a cop? Oh, whoops" is a bit jarring and immersion breaking. Surely some sort of guild/organisation you have to get into first. Or is it really that free for all of a universe. Food for thought. But really an excellent game, just needs some additional love here and there.
