CQC Capture the Flag on Sunday May 6th

Date: Sunday, May 6th
Time: Europe afternoon to evening.

Hi,

I would like to organize some Capture the Flag games on May 6th (Sunday). For those who like to play it and for those who would like to try.

The best way to coordinate would be as usual via https://discord.me/elitedangerouscqc

Just hop in, and write in PC channel or General that you want to participate in the CTF event.

Of course you can also write here that you are interested and we'll figure out a way to coordinate.

Looking forward to see you there!

Sowelu

P.S.: For those unfamiliar with how to play the CTF it's in its core simple really. You take your oponnent's ball/flag and carry it to your Home. You can score ONLY if the enemy is NOT in possesion of your own ball.
Typically it goes like this: You grab their flag, go to your homebase, wait near it until your team kills enemy flag carrier and when they do, you score. The other team is trying to do the same to you too, of course. ;)

Good idea. :)

In CQC, pay attention to the extra HUD indicators - these will tell you what to shoot, protect, pick up, or otherwise interact with.

Carrying the flag will significantly slow you down for easier shooting at... as well as leave a bright trail behind you to stop you sneaking away.

I can play if you need the numbers.

CTF can be a lot of fun. It's more team work than just kill whoever you see as fast as you can.

Thanks for pointing it out. :)

Sure!

Thanks to everybody coming. It was a blast! At one point we had TWO CTF matches going! Incredible! Since the event was apparently a huge success, we are going to repeat it in the future. For now we are talking about CTF Sundays. If you are interested, let me know, or even better, hop on to our Discord and join us! (The reason being we can organize via it. It's impossible to do so only with ingame tools.)

Was good fun, even though I sometimes couldn't tell where the flag was or where our own base was.[wacky]

I also notice the announcer would sometimes say things about the wrong team, like "enemy has dropped the flag" when it was actually my team that dropped it, etc.

Should probably try to set specific times as 16:00-20:00 GMT (or thereabouts) to get as many people coordinated as possible.

I agree that the annoucer is sometimes very coiunter-intuitive. As you, I have found myself thinking that exactly the opposite happened. I have put it into the "I'll just get used to it" category. I doubt Frontier would fix it anyway so let's just cope with it.

Yeah same bug (so we discovered another bug in CQC). It was confusing so I was completely ignoring the announcer and was following mainly on-screen instructions i.e. kill or escort

We were all learning how to play CTF despite our ranks in CQC. My total time in CTF is only 6 hours 30 minutes.

It was good fun though. I will join next events like this.
