General / Off-Topic Capturing in-game gameplay

Hello all,

I've been thinking of purchasing Avermedia Live Gamer Portable for streaming to twitch as well as recording gameplay for later editing. It will relieve the CPU for those precious fps.

Before I proceed with the purchase I have some queries that hopefully some of you would have a solution to.

- Will I be able to use my microphone with Voice Attach, TeamSpeak and LGP? Ideally choosing which one to transmit using hotkeys

- Would recording and streaming cause any issues?

- Would I need a Mixer?

- Will LGP work with Oculus Rift?

- 2nd PC just for LGP?

Anything else that might help with setting this up, please share. Thanks

If you are running an Nvidia GPU I would highly recommend downloading Nvidia Geforce Experience. This program manages the GPU (driver wise, and optimising game settings for your rig).

But it's feature you may be interested in is its 'shadowplay' option. Which pretty much captures your game footage in HD and also lets you broadcast your gameplay in an HD-quality stream through Twitch. It records your voice and friends as you play (or if you played, as it can also render the last 20 minutes of game footage if it's running in the background and you forgot to hit record).

Best thing about this? It is completely free.
