Thought I would share one of the best car chases in movie history. By the same guy who did The French Connection car chase, from what I understand...

I miss the golden days when cars used to be built tough.
Sure. Much better to be dead in a heavy pile of largely intact metal than survive but turn car into rubble...oh wait, it's other way around :D I don't miss days when cars were deathtraps. Although, thin A pillars were nice for view.

I beg to differ. First of all, Bullit's chase sequence is even better.

And then there's the french short film "Rednevouz", which was pretty obviously filmed without any kind of permission in the middle of Paris:

I miss the days when cars used to do what you told them! The little French number I've been driving seems to have a life of it's own, the interior lights are especially unpredictable but I'll turn the headlights and windscreen wipers on and off myself thanks. (I did demostrate comptence in controlling the vehicle while obtaining a license you know! :D ) .. Reminds me of Web 2.0.

A couple more for consideration .. the oft quoted Mustang GT, Bulllit

And I personally think a contender, for a modern day classic? Black .. tank (Tumbler v Cops, Batman Begins)

Proud to say both my kids also love that film.

Brainwashing technique still working... :D

"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark. And we're wearing sunglasses... Hit it."

Ha, how many cars did that movie kill? It must still hold the record?

Submitted to category, best chase in a Bond movie (Las Vegas, is defintely up there for me).

Here's a little bonus, genuinely just dropped into my IEEE article inbox. A blind J turn, using only AVM parking assistant as a guide. Looks fun? Eat your heart out Jason Statham!

Hard to argue with any of these!

I remember one standing out for me, it was on the series " The Missing" on Starz a few years ago starring James Nesbitt. It wasn't in an exotic location or had like cars jumping over railroad tracks or crap like that, but it stood out for because of the way it was filmed. It was from inside the chase vehicle, and it seemed like one single long take with the actor driving (Tcheky Karyo) the whole time. I was pretty impressed. I can't find a video or I'd post it, but if you're looking for something to watch the series was one season, very good, well worth watching.
