Carbon-ammonia-based life?

So I'm out on my second major exploration run heading towards the Rosette Nebula and I come across a planet that as far as I can tell I have never seen before and never seen any mention of in this forum. Maybe I'm just a noob and this is old news, but if someone could clarify or let me know if this is new I would greatly appreciate it. When I get to a station and get my data sold, I will post a screenshot, but for now I've listed the description below.

To add it orbits a class L dwarf.

Terrestrial ammonia world with an active ammonia-based chemistry and carbon-ammonia-base life.

Thanks for straightening that out for me. I was pretty sure it was nothing special, but better to ask than disregard it. :D

They are rarer than their carbon-water-based equivalents, Water Worlds. It's being debated in another thread exactly how rare these Ammonia Worlds are. Systematic surveyors report that they seem to be more common than Earthlikes, yet the number of AWs in the EDSM database is smaller than the number of ELWs. We suspect this is because many specialist ELW-hunters only bother scanning ELWs, and don't stop to scan Ammonia Worlds, and therefore fewer of them get reported to EDSM.

I could also see them being easily mistaken for a HMC as well. I thought it just looked a little different but I was expecting a high metal content world. I could swear I came across at least one or two of these in previous travels, and I just didn't remember it saying carbon-ammonia-based life. I thought it was just ammonia based life. Ahh well, I guess that is just the gas giants.

Yep, gas giants with ammonia based life do say that. Theoretically, the gas-giant lifeforms are "carbon-ammonia based" as well. In the ED universe, all life requires carbon; it's just the liquid solvent that the life occurs in which is different (water versus ammonia).

Eventually you get a feeling for spotting these. When they are of bland colours they are not much to look at but when they are of vibrant color variant they are really beautiful. Almost like ELW's but in brown scheme.
