Absolutely nothing.
Or am I wrong? Have about 50 units which seems to be making a huge dent in my 1000iu of micro reserves. Should I trash it or has it got a purpose? (Engi or otherwise).

Definitely used in some of the engineer recipes..I used it in some of the low level shield stuff

I'm pretty sure it gets used in ammo reloads for certain weapons as well.

But for how common it is, you don't need to keep a lot of it on hand.

And of course, gun reloads. Given how common it is you can easily get rid of 40 of the stuff. Not like it would take long to farm it if you ever came up short...
