What's your highest Elite ranking ever?

What's the highest Elite ranking you have achieved in your Elite career? This is the highest ranking you have ever achieved, from classic Elite, Arc Elite, through Frontier, FFE, and Oolite?

For me, the highest I ever achieved was Deadly on classic Elite (on the BBC and on the Spectrum).

I reached Elite on the Speccy original...

... once, and it took a period of a few years. Now I don't have the time or patience for that, so I usually just play to pimp my ride as much as possible instead.

Respect to that, I went back on the speccy recently to try to get higher, but I am too used to games with higher frame rates these days ;)

Only ever got as high as Deadly on Amiga, then I had to go and ruin it by buying a PC :p

I got to Elite but can't for the life of me remember which version it was in. I do remember that it was distinctly underwhelming when I got there though.

haha, so much death, and for what?

Frontier, deadly on emulated Amiga about 10 years ago, can't remember what I made on the real thing 10 years before that but it wasn't elite. Right now I am dangerous back on a real Amiga.

Genuine Elite ranking on (JJ)FFE. I was actually very pleased when I got there. I may have danced.

Elite on FFE first time around. Never managed to get their since....yet :D

My best effort was my original commander for FE2, which I still have, although I retired it when I found out the Thargoid ship was a hoax. It's got a heavily modified Viper. Status: 6 April 3235/Dangerous/Sergeant/Earl.

Without exploiting the game I've never managed higher than competent.

Officially I'll say Dangerous on the original, I MIGHT have made it to deadly, not sure though... so I'll stick with dangerous as my official standing. I never bother with combat on FFE never felt right.

Above Average in the summer holidays on the Acorn Electron, I think. The tape recorder always failed to save a game so when the end of the day came then that was it for that commander...

Elite on the BBC Micro until the disc with my save game corrupted. Elite on Elite Plus on PC (also Archangel).
Something like dangerous on FE2 and FFE. Didn't get on with those as much.

I started a new game on GLFrontier last month, just got to Dangerous again; determined to get all the way before March 2014 :cool:

Dangerous on ZX Spectrum Elite (legit) - though there was a glitch in that version that if you saved your game when it first loaded before starting anything, you'd get to 'Elite' straight off and in a system that was about to go 'supernova' and you get the option to save the refugees - but it messed up the Galaxy numbers, can't recall ever finding the Lave system again after doing that.

Dangerous again on FE2 (legit), but there was a glitch in this game too, find an asteroid, and keep blasting it with your pulse laser (or mining laser - can't remember exactly) and switch on the time compression to full, after about 5 minutes, you'd be 'Elite'

Deadly on Oolite - did not find any glitches in this.

I got Deadly in both FFE and Elite 2.

I'm gonna get Elite this time if it kills me or means I remain single for abit longer. ;)

Well, I only ever played Elite on the Amiga and I reached Elite status there, but that was with cheating enabled, so it doesn't count.
Currently, I am replaying Elite in WinUAE (--whenever I have the time--) and I am standing at "Dangerous" -- without cheating. So that's my official all time high. Will continue to Elite :)
