In the original Elite you could buy a cargo compression upgrade if i remember correctly in order to increase your cargo capacity.

Does anyone know if this going to be available in ED ?

Cargo compression was in X:beyond the frontier, as I can remember.
Cant remember that in Elite:Frontier or FFE.

In the original game you could have a bulkhead removed on your Cobra mk III so you could fit in another 5t up from the standard 30t if I remember right.

But back then it was fly a Cobra or nothing so its unlikely to make it to this version.

It increased cargo from 20 tonnes to 35 tonnes.

I'm glad someone actually remembers the game. DB recently explained that that was actually buying a smaller more efficient engine that freed up space on your ship.

Oh I didn't remember I fired up the Beeb and looked in the manual!

That will be one of the main selling points of the Eagle over the Sidewinder
