Cargo delivery mission issue

Hi everyone,

Premium beta player here since the launch of the game on kickstarter, however have been away from the game for 7+ years.

I have recently updated to Odissey and I'm back on my Alliance Chieftain.
Have recently accepted two missions to help a small faction suffering with famine on a remote system. 150 light years (25 jumps) to carry hydrogen fuel.
Now, here's the fact: one mission asked me to load 24 tons of HF, the other one 6.
I realised I had some stuff in my cargo and needed two extra tons of room.
So I loaded the 6 tons of the smaller mission, 22/24 of the first mission, sold (at a loss) two tons of commodities and went back to missions bulletin board... To realise that in the meantime the listing had disappeared!!! So I'm now traveling with 22/24 + 6/6 mission cargo hoping that I can go back and that mission will magically reappear so that I can complete.
Which, of course, is never going to happen.

Is this a bug or it's by design?

And what's the need to load the cargo manually when the delivery mission starts from the same station you accept it? Shouldn't it be automatic and shouldn't the game disallow accepting it if one has got not enough cargo space? (especially considering it's gonna disappear if you do a partial load of the cargo) .

Confused 😕

Yeah, players wanted to be able to take missions in small ships then go get the big ship. You see what happens is that you land in a small ship and see a mission you like, but can't take it due to not enough cargo space. You rush off, grab your big ship, fly back, and in the meantime the mission board has reset and the mission is gone, so players wanted the option of being able to take the mission then go and get the big ship to pick up the cargo.

(Most) Cargo Missions use a depot mechanism now so you can take them before you have cargo space. If you accepted the mission then the other goods are in the depot to the right of the mission screen ready for transport. If you didn't take the mission then it has probably refreshed away.

Depots were added because people were furious they couldn't accept missions unless they had cargo space. So now you get to complain about the opposite :D

I see. So che unique cargo of the mission is still at station? At the depot?
I'll go back and load it, then.
This explains it and I like the dynamics.
I hope it's still there, though... Lol

If you haven't found it yet, the depots are in the mission board all the way over on the lower right.
