Cargo Drones!

I hate mining. I REALLY hate mining.

You want to know why? It's not because of the rocks, it's not because it may take a while to fill up a cargo bay on a T6, and it's definitely not because of possible pirates.

It's because of the cargo scooping.

Think about it. It's actually pretty fun shooting at a rock and mining chunks off of it. I LOVE that part. The problem comes in with the cargo scooping. It takes FOREVER, and makes ships with larger cargo space refuse to mine at all.

My suggestion: Cargo drones!

You'll sacrifice an internal slot and some power in order to have drones fly out and pick up the chunks of rock for you. They'll just pick up anything you mine and you'll have to vent the stuff you don't like.

They would make mining so much better, and you would only really want to use them for mining in larger ships due to the power usage and the loss of an internal slot.

I would LOVE to use my Type-6 to mine, and with Cargo Drones I could!

That is my suggestion for improving mining. Simple idea, and would not clash with cannon. Though my suggestion would be put them in the utility mount because that has easy access to the outside of the ship.

Yep people been suggesting alot for this one.. robot arm extension, grav beam tractor, harpoon, ..

I even suggest a mining ship with super duper uber large cargo scoop, namely Saud-Kruger Shark or Hippo...

Mining is not that hard. If you watch the asteroid you can see where they come off and it pretty much land in your cargo scoop. I believe you have to locate the Polls of the asteroid to make it easier for you.

But you have to PRACTICE also

It fine the way it is. We don't need the game to hold our hand. There has to be some challenge to it.

But we need something to scale the mining...

So it has difference similar to the difference between trading in cobra vs trading in type 9

Let take a look at it

A good mining laser can drop 6 ores pretty quick a cheap one will take a little more time.

A cheap refinery can only do 1 at a time. A good one can Refine 5 or 6 ores at the same time.

Then the size of the Ship which is the Scale of mining. My Cobra can hold 32 cargo. My Lakon 6 can hold 98. Yes I use shields.

Then the user. If you practice Mining is really easy and can be done very fast. If you don't practice it take a long time each time you try it.
