Cargo Hatch Malfunction : Stuck at Nav Beacon

Hi guys !

So I was Bounty Hunting at a Nav Beacon and in a middle of a fight I've got a "Module Malfunction" alert with a text like "Cargo Hatch Malfunction"... Not really impressed, I killed the 3 eagle NPC that were attacking me, retracted my hard points and tried to go into super cruise in order to reach the next station to repair et re-munition...

And at that moment, I have the message "Cannot comply, Frame shift cancelled: hard points/gear/scoop deployed... I check the 3 LED and they are all black...
I turn the debug camera on and while looking under my ship, I can see I have my cargo hatch open... It's damaged at 67% and I cannot close it !

So.... Am I stuck in space for... ever ? Should I self-destruct ? :(
 
Hmmm... I didn't know that... Thank you ! ...but it didn't work... "Repair sequence failed: unable to process"....
The effect are cool though... but I'm still stuck :(
 
This solves many problems.
note how things are and decide if you can exit the session to the start screen.
Do so and just re-start your session.
It fixes landing gear jambs and stuck cargo hatches.
Anything that keeps you from jumping.
 
OP - have you tried powering down the cargo hatch in the modules screen?
Yes I tried... I tried to turn of other modules too in order to "free" some power but I didn't help... On the function tab, the cargo scoop displays "retracted" even if when I look under the ship I see it's open... And when I try to retract it, there is a "bip" sound and nothing...

At least it's realistic... haha ^^ But if I can avoid self destruction that would be better...

Question for you OP: Were you carrying cargo for a mission i.e cargo marked as "HAULAGE".

I've had issues with the bug you describe, and what I think is happening is this: There's some sort of code written to protect "HAULAGE" from being jetted (at least under those circumstances). Reason being I wouldn't be surprised if the "HAULAGE" flag gets dumped from the cargo when it jets into space. The reason this would be a problem is that even if you scooped the cargo back up, you wouldn't be able to complete the mission as the delivery requires *mission specific* cargo (i.e HAULAGE)

When your cargo hatch malfunctions, you lose all control of it (i.e you can't open/close it) while it jets a random amount of your cargo. I think it's trying to jet the HAULAGE, failing, and getting into a hang state. I never bugreported this because I wanted to get some evidence first, but capturing a somewhat random event is tricky.
