In the Status/Finance menu it shows cargo insurance. Anyone know what this is or how it is used or is it something that is there but hasn't been implemented yet?

Should be handy, though. Making victims of piracy or bad piloting feel a little more comfortable.
Agreed.
Then again, that's what we thought about level 2 and 3 exploration scans, until they suddenly were defined as discovery and surface scans, and a (somewhat messed up) number added to your stats.
There's no knowing what sort of "already implemented" shoehorning they can come up with, within the already existing insurance system.
