CARGO INSURANCE ???

So looking at my status in the right hand panel, there I can see my Balance and under that is Insurance.

I see Cargo Insurance but it's at 0%, it is always 0%. So how do we get cargo Insurance?

Been like that since day 1.

Maybe FD have forgotten about this.
Maybe it's a placeholder (but why display it for 2.5 years?)
Maybe I've just never worked out how to buy cargo insurance.

Sure would come in handy when using trading to earn some credits...especially when you're carrying more than 400T.

We can't, I remember I had to pay fines for failed missions when I blowup.

but have insurace as a option , to pay in advance to have that cargo insurance It's a good idea to put in the game, I paid satisfied of it were possible

Apparently, cargo insurance was available in the earliest versions of the game, but was removed due to abuse(???) or some other reason. Maybe someone else knows the details.

Cargo insurance was neve available, it was an idea that's never been implemented. Like Docking Services, Tuning Facility, they just haven't removed it from the UI. Gotta say that's slack of them, it's low hanging fruit and removes pointless queries.

surely the insurance company went bust from all the payouts in the first week of launch?

Tuning Facility is in the game. It is the advanced maintenance function that allows you to repair ship integrity. Ship integrity is a hull strength (hull hp) modifier which determines if you get 100% of your available hull hp at 100% integrity down to 50% of your hull hp at 0% integrity. However, this does not mean your ship is damaged as integrity drops, as ship integrity reflects the ware and tear on your vessel from use, and not hull hp loss.
