I watched a how-to video. At crashed ship recovery sites if you shoot the cargo racks you get one item. If you get out of the SRV and cut the two mag locks with the arc cutter you get six items. If I hadn't seen it done, I would never have known. This may work anywhere there is an intact cargo rack. O7 Commanders!

Are they on-foot materials? Or ship/SRV modification/synthesis materials?
Minerals/metals; ship/srv materials. Would be a little bit immersive if a cmdr could carry one of them at a time when planetside.
(the 1T cargo canisters is another matter entirely tho x)
Cut the locks, collect all six, then shoot it for another one.

If it's there you cut it, no exceptions.
