Newcomer / Intro Cargo Scoop Cobra mkiii

I've just upgraded to a Cobra MkIII and it appears the cargo scoop is not working! Is this something that's on new ships by default or is it something I need to add to my ship? Thanks for helping out a newcomer

What you have just explained. I’m not knocking it but the op mentions cargo scoop, not fuel scoop.
Maybe they mean fuel scoop, a better explanation of the problem may shed more light on it. Shrug

Be aware the cargo scoop is always on the bottom of your ship; you need to "fly over" the cargo being scooped, rather than simply ramming it head-on. A little scoop guide opens up at the bottom left when you open the cargo scoop; aim at the cargo using the guide, not using the main targeting reticle.

And at first take it as slow as you can the guide screen is small and aligning can be tricky.

OP the cargo scoop is built in to all ships however it can be powered off so check in the modules tab on the right hand screen.

your new cobra may not have enough power for the cargo scoop (but unless you set your power priorities - which you should - it would also deactivate everything else, thrusters, shields, life support, ..., might have happened by mistake though)

Your fuel scoop could be deactivated in the modules menu (right hand side), maybe by mistake / cat on keyboard

it might also be a case of the new ship being faster then the old one, cargo scooping only works below 40m/s - the scooping screen goes red if you are faster and the target will get deflected away.

Sorry guys, my original post was from my inner moron. Edited to reflect my outer moron.

Texting can be taking ten different ways depending upon the viewpoint of who is reading it. You don't know that. That is why someone invented emoticons but doesn't always help. Try a male/female relationship with texting and before computers were invented we have never figured out face-to-face and probably never will!

You're doing fine. Keep helping ED players. Just read their posts twice before responding.

Best to You

Right guy and girls, thanks for all your responses it is very much apricated but I wrote my post late (early hours) last night, so let explain further. It is most definitely the Cargo Scoop and I have successfully use the Cargo Scoop in my previous ship, Sidewinder. I come to a dead stop, press the 'home' key (playing on PC) and nothing! I like the look of Craith's response and will look at that shortly. Thanks again for your help.
