Carl Zeiss Cinemizer Head Tracking

I just got me a nice pair of Carl Zeiss Cinemizer FPV goggles to use with my quadcopter. I didn't realize that you could get a head tracker for it.

Has anyone used this head tracker with ED? How well does it work? Is it better than trackIR5?

So far im quite happy with the Track IR5 apart from the fact that I cannot use it during daytime becuase there is too much light in my room and it makes the infrared go haywire.

The Cinemizer has a long USB cable that you have to plug in, but thats not a problem for me. By looking at the head track unit, id gues it must use motion sensors to track the movement rather than use IR to calculate the position of the head. Is it better than track IR though? Can it track as many axis of movement? Is the software as good as TrackIR?

Thanks commanders fly safe

I have never heard of it before.
As for head tracking in ED only the three rotational degrees of freedom are considered, no translation.
I have no idea how the Cinemizer does register within Windows but basically anything that windows recognizes as a joystick, can be used in ED as head tracker.
If you use OpenTrack (which I recommend), you can define your curves and smoothing (this tutorial is a little outdated but gives an idea of how it works).
