So recently I looked into grabbing a discounted carrier and there were some issues a lot of players were having to enter the systems for the upgrades to facilities that were needed. And I think there is an easy fix for this. Essentially wherever you are. I think there could be a super carrier or even a smaller carrier that is able to deliver and install the modules you want. The carrier that is dispatched to upgrade carriers out in space. The request would be sent out for a Small fee ( And I mean small Frontier). The upgrade carrier would come out and during this time the mega ship would dock with your carrier or send modules over that land boxes on large landing pads that your carrier then retracts and installs. Which would allow you to upgrade all of your facilities. The carrier called would bring all potential discounts with it. While you would still have to enter the system to get a carrier. You wouldn’t have to wait for a spot for a carrier.
Let’s be honest that if this was really space. Thousands to millions of these carriers could exist in the orbit of planets. But there would always be a choke point at shipyards. So this isn’t unheard of. But with large ships that could bring and install these modules to you seems like a technology or service that might arise given these limitations that would be in line with the universe that Frontier has created.
finally! I need a carrier bridge. Sitting in my ship managing a carrier is kind of a let down with owning one.
