Carrier jump bug

Not sure where to post bug reports (tried searching) but I just set my carrier to jump from LHS 20 to Sothis and switched to watching someone's stream, when I looked back at my game, the timer was gone so I undocked my ship and noticed that I was still in LHS 20. I quickly requested docking and enabled auto docking right away. Then I checked the galaxy map and I could see the icon for my carrier 500 ly away in Sothis, but at the same time I was in LHS 20 docking to my carrier. As soon as my landing gear touched the landing pad, I got disconnected from the game. When I logged back in, the carrier was gone and I'm still in LHS 20 as I'm typing this.

update
Sorry to post this on the forums, I didn't realize that bug reports go here instead: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/20187

Yeah, the "Schrodinger's Carrier" bug (jumped and not-jumped at the same time). Kept happening to me after I got a Carrier for my third account (and oddly it was account-specific, regardless of which Carrier that CMDR was riding on). Then the problem just vanished (for me).

All you can do is try to dock with it before the game "realises" that it's not supposed to still be there. Or, preferably, don't launch: relog while still on the Carrier, to force an update.

Someone on the carrier club discord suggested self-destructing in order to respawn at the carrier. While not ideal, it's good to know of the various ways it can be dealt with until this issue reaches high enough priority to get fixed.

It's a network latency issue, the location of the carrier has to be updated for every player on every network, and they have pushed the time so close that sometimes the new location hasn't propogated to all players by the time the carrier has moved so your local copy of the database still has the carrier on one place but the master database has the carrier in another. You can force an update by logging out and back in but usually by the time you realise what's happening it's to late for that.

It has only happened to me once fortunately.

I had this happen to me recently. My carrier was gone without me and I was in the original system but I was in my carrier. Talk about being in two places at once! I logged off and logged back in and I ended up in the destination system thankfully.

This Schrodinger's Effect has cropped in other spots, doppelganger mission targets that are both dead and alive, duplicate locations for wing mates and so on.

FD has managed to tear the space continuum! Must have something to do with the after-effects of FSD emission pollution, and with carriers, it has been magnified.

We must fit particulate filters to the FSD, so no matter where you go, there you are!

I've yet to go on a trip in the black, without this happening to me.
Not sure what might be causing it. Someone posted saying plotting a route with your Ship then plotting a Carrier route causes it, but I'v had it leave me behind when my Ship hadn't plotted a route.
At the start of my last trip, I noticed that after filling my Carrier to max with Tritium AND having my Cutter carrying additional Tritium, it left me behind every single time until I'd transfered all the Ship's Tritium into the Carrier's Tritium Depot & started using Tritium from the Carrier's cargo hull.

I'm used to it now, I just scan my way towards it......it pays towards the weekly upkeep from Exploration data sold at my Carrier....when I reach it.

During one trip, I actually managed to re-fuel my Carrier from nearly 1000LYs away from, jumping it again just to see what happens:)...........I wonder how far I can jump the Carrier using the 'Schrodinger Effect'
