Cars and roads

I'm always looking for more realism in Planet Coaster and one thing that would increase the realism of the game exponentially is parking systems. I know you can make custom parking lots, but how great would it be if guests arrived in cars and you could build parking lots that would actually work? It's an ambitious idea, but it would add so much to the game IMO.

Agree with this. Guests just poping into existance in a cave and walking out doesnt really complete the circle of the trip to a theme park. Guests entering through vehicles (cars, trains, coaches) and then being brought on a story through to the park entrance would add to the realism.

Taking it at most basic level, it could be the edge of map being a parking lot with standard animation of vehicles moving in and out and guests appearing in a similar manner adjacent to current. Through to the more advanced level of setting of car and coach parking and pathways through to park entrance.

Agreed. A prebuilt parking lot just outside the edge of the map would be amazing. A connected buss stop could solve the problem 10k guests arriving in cars would potentially become. Casual players could keep playing like they currently do while more ambitious builders could expand the lot with scenery, it'd look great even if only the prebuilt park would actually be functional.

Hmm I disagree.
I think it'd be great to have carparks with cars for the realism side of it, however the game already takes up enough resources as it is. Adding a carpark that changes as more or less people enter just seems like a lot of resources being used for little gameplay value.
It's cosmetic really.

I'd love it, but just don't think it will be practical enough

What would help IMO, and with what Anth08 said, it would mainly be for cosmetic appearance. But custom sandbox mode like RCT3 days. We could create a sandbox with the ability to also build outside park perimeters. This way we could create theme park toll gates, parking lots, roadways, etc with objects already in the game. Many builders have created stunning vehicles that are available on Steam. We could then create points where guests spawn. Rather than buses and carpools for guests to arrive at the park. We had the ability to build our transport tracked rides outside of park boundaries. This way if you created a spawn point that is a distance from the park's entrance, an in-game monorail system could transport those guests from Point A, or create various stations for individual sections outside our parks to pick guests up and shuttle them to the entrance.

Having the tools to create custom sandboxes would do wonders- super flat terrain, ability to create massive parks, build outside park boundaries, as well as have various park entrance points would also keep the flow of guests arriving and departing more natural.
