Caught by a small Brown Dwarf!

Sounds like something out of a fairy tale I know but this is serious stuff! :)

Soon after starting the game I bought an Adder to try a little exploring and found I quite enjoyed it. I headed back to civilised space to get some credits together to purchase an Asp for some deep space exploring. The stories coming in from Erimus, Ranger0, Allitnil, Nutter and others helped to inspire as well.
Anyway, after a few days of trading in rares I managed to get more than enough credits together to fit out an Asp for the task. (Thanks Nutter for your tutorial...very helpful btw.) Head out on the maiden voyage, not planning on going too far to start as I wanted to test my configuration. About 100Ly out I came across a system that had not been explored and as it had quite a few planets and gas giants in I decided it would be a good spot to start some scanning.
I got to the eighth planet in the system which turned out to be a Y(Brown Dwarf) with a few planetoids around it and then turned to head out to the next planet when I was dropped out of cruise. Interesting...starting FSD instantly drops me back with the "Too Close" message. So there I am 35.9Ls from this hairy, little monster 100Ly from civilisation and nobody in sight. Oops, spoke too soon. A local security wallop pops in and tells me to hold still while he checks out my hold! I'm not going anywhere fast so he is welcome to check out any damn thing he likes! I don't have a hold in any case...some of these security types are intellectually challenged. While he is deciding his next move I hit the FSD in his general direction more to see if I can get out of this hole. Got dropped back again with the same message and my new found "friend" had disappeared.

Does anybody have any useful tips to getting myself away from this clingy star? I have tried pointing my tale at it and hitting the FSD to no avail!
Cheers,
Rathbones the not so lucky explorer! :D

Thanks for the replies. I tried the local options but nothing worked. Lined up the next system and managed to jump there with no problems.
The only damage I had was from the initial drop. Just a hop, skip and a jump back to Exphiay so I went back to repair and will start again!
One lesson of exploration learned...bound to be more! ;)
What is the safe distance from those little horrors anyway?

I generally use the theory of "I can't scoop it, and I can scan it from a really long way away (1000Ls or so?), so I'll throttle back and scan it from here before moving onto the next item" :)

Black holes are worse. Do try not to get caught by one of those... it is really hard to determine the minimum safe distance.

Heya Rathbones, to get out of the no-SC zone you have two choices either supercruise and deal with the exit vector and some heat damage, or hyperjump and take a lot of heat damage.

If you want to supercruise you'll have to get the star behind the ship by using the radar. Next go into your modules and shut off everything except for thrusters, FSD and life support. Now initiate the jump to supercruise and make sure to be pointing at the escape vector.

For hyperjumps you'll need to make sure your destination is not behind the brown dwarf, but you must disable all the unnecessary modules as things will get really hot, really fast.

If you have a heatsink dispenser use it as the heat passes 90%.

Good luck and godspeed, commander.

This is exactly the solution! Other then self destruct :(

Couldn't resist this... Because, I tried once.
