Cause secretive organizations to hunt you for killing Elite NPCs (and more)

Hello FD!

I suggest that we should see more depth regarding the death of Elite pilots, as killing one is no small feat, as noted by The Dark Wheel (1984). Perhaps, you could be given a mission from an unknown source, say, while you're sitting in a station. For example, you're going through the contacts tab, redeeming your bounty vouchers, and you notice a blue box in the corner of your vision. Your inbox in the comms panel has something in it! When you read it, it turns out that your evil deed has been noticed. Either

A) You're invited to come to place X to meet with an organization that disliked the Elite you killed, and want to offer you a seat in their group. (I think secret groups were in the DDF. They'd be decently numerous, and some players would know of some, while others knew of none)

- Perhaps they do this to trick you, and then they kill you.

B) They threaten you, and perhaps tell you of something they've done to you, ex- "We've just created a slight error in the Federation's records. It seems you're a wanted man, Mr. Anderson."

Perhaps instead, you'll just receive a serious whipping from the Elite's faction. Perhaps wings of armed fighters will come your way, and tear you limb from limb! What if the Elite had deep connections in his home faction, and now you can't dock at any of their ports?

Think of the possibilities!

Logically killing an Elite pilot from any faction; would have you on the KOS list, of every other Elite pilot, within that faction.

If one of your buddies gets killed and you know who it was; you either quake with fear; or go all out to kill them.

It's a good idea. It's worth noting that at least one not-so-secret secret society - Emperor's Dawn* - exists in the game already, although getting missions from them isn't tied to killing anyone in particular, so far as I know. It's very possible there are more that aren't widely known, equally possibly offering rare missions in response to triggers such as the one you suggest.

If chained up correctly, it would be an interesting way for FD to provide story experiences that are nearly unique for each player, providing they can recognise the white rabbit, so to speak. Obviously, it would require a fair amount of work to do well, but it could be hugely enjoyable for those that find them.

*Presumably named for Asian Dawn, a dubious group mentioned in Die Hard. I laughed, even if no-one else got it.
