The effect is for short time, same as corrosion, scramble spectrum, thermal, emission...
There is a corrosive/caustic missile.. The Enzyme Missile... Just sayin’
Tangent... I proposed a CG to FD, on the idea that a Pirate Group uses Enzyme Missiles to attack a (extraction economy) station and "steal" it's materials.
Station is put into the "Damaged" state (along with Thargoid-like corrosion damage, explained by the enzyme missiles)...
Two CGs would be:
1. Affiliated with the pirates, hand in stolen minerals/metals to black market. They don't need to be from the station, they just need to be stolen (e.g the mineral wealth is being shipped out of the damaged port, go steal from haulers)
2. Deliver battle/personal weapons and reactive armour *to* the damaged station to fend off the pirate raiders. The interesting bit there is actually taking cargo *into* a damaged station.
Of course, never happened.

I like it. I never unlocked enzyme missiles, but if they could be used to steal minerals from stations I just might.
