Celebrities, customisable celebrities and dino adjectives

The notion of Celebrities has been suggested before, it's a logical compromise, especially in terms of the first game. The idea is for guest complexities to be focused on a limited number of specific individuals, assuming it can't be done for the broader population.

These celebrities would also have an effect on attendance at the park for a time, based on the final review of their experience. If they are injured, it's automatically the lowest possible review.

Each celebrity could have an archetype, determining what fundamentally gives a positive review. Some examples:
  • Dino fan - favourite adjective is required, accuracy in exhibits is appreciated
  • Meat head - carnivores are required, fights are appreciated
  • Activist - all animals healthy is required (outside of death from old age, or explicit prey animals like goats), all animals comfortable is appreciated
  • Casual - More than 2 species required, more species are appreciated
  • Shopper - more than two shops are required, favourite shop is appreciated
Each celebrity could also have an impact amount/type, based on how much of a celebrity they are, including Minor, Major and Scientist.

Each dinosaur could also have from 1 to 3 adjectives attached to them, based on their species. Each celebrity would have a favourite adjective, adding to their review (a more generalised version of favourite species).
One out of these two:
  • Terrifying - threatening, both in demeanour and looks
  • Cute - adorable, both in demeanour and looks
One out of these two:
  • Majestic - large and graceful
  • Nimble - a fast mover and a fast thinker
One out of these two:
  • Flamboyant - Noisy, both in sound and colour
  • Muted - Quiet, both in sound and colour
You could also add genes that change these adjectives, but I think it's better not being changeable, unless the genes did something else as well, like change skin brightness/contrast or animal size.

There could also be a Celebrity editor, customising the archetype, impact, favoured adjective and appearance, being able to share on PC as you would a save file, appearing in your park on occasion.

One specific achievement could be called "I've decided not to endorse your park", simply for getting a negative review.

This strongly encourages the player to diversify the portfolio of exhibits not just in the number of species available, but also opting for little to unmodified dinosaurs in certain zones to please certain discerning naturalist guests, while going all out in others for the thrill seeking crowds.

Just merely selecting only the 'best' genes to engineer is no longer a surefire way to win overall guest approval. This makes important business decisions more nuanced and meaningful.

"Significant enhancements are also being applied to guests, their behaviors, and the structures you can build for them. Each guest's mood is divided into four categories: adventure, standard, nature, and luxury. They will gravitate to areas that they seek the most. For instance, an adventure junky will want to see carnivores." - Game Informer, Jun 21

Yep, the idea of Celebrities as a compromise is redundant now, it's a good thing, especially seeing it sounds closer to individual people as guests.

I don't know if Celebrities as a whole is redundant just yet, it could probably still be utilised in some minor way if they wanted to (though the significance seems like it'll decrease as more gets revealed, which is fine too).

We'll see on the dino adjectives, though I have the feeling it'll be just as redundant as more gets revealed.
