Newcomer / Intro Celestial bodies in radar

Hey guys!

Celestial bodies sometimes show up in my radar and sometimes they don't. And I find this info very useful especially on empty systems given that I end up getting lost and I can't find the star.

How can I make them always show up on my radar?

It's not a matter of distance given that I can be just right besides the star and it doesn't show up on the radar.

Thanks!

If you activate your discovery scanner, any bodies within range should become visible on the radar.
The more expensive discovery scanners have a better range... The basic d-scanner will find anything within 500ls, the intermediate d-scanner 1000ls and the advanced d-scanner has an infinite range.

There are popular systems where the data is freely available. You see all bodies immediately with names on your nav tab.
Some systems you can purchase the data on the Galaxy map.
Most systems there is no data. Stations will appear on the nav tab, the main star and anything that you fly really close to will appear but be unknown until you target them and let your built in scanner do its thing. For the rest of the bodies, you need to use basic, intermediate or advanced scanner as above
