Celestial body optimal route finder

Hi.
Please, add the possibility to mark multiple celestial bodies in the system map an have the game calculate the shortest route to visit them all.
I do realize this is rather useless for an everyday life but it could mean a considerable time saving for exploring.

Thanks for considering.

I actually like 'calculating' such a route by hand, but I wouldn't mind.

But that means you have to target every body you want to visit, note down the distance and an estimate of the angle in the plane and then draw a 2-D map of the system on a piece of paper.
Once finished with that you need to start experimenting with connecting the points and measuring the total distance to find the best result.
You might have a software for that using say Dijkstra's algorithm.
My estimate is this adds about 10 minutes of time spent per exploring one system, which renders the time saving caused by flying the shortest path useless.

No need to go into this much detail and lose all that time. I line up the ship with the planetary plane and target every body I want to visit (scan or land on). The 'alignment dot' shows the directions and from those and the distances you get a rough picture, a simplified orery. For those objects only, naturally. Then all that is left is to visualise the path from one to another. No computer precision but definitely good enough. If you wanted you could also fly perpendicular to.the planetary plane for some 200-300 Ls, turn around and take a good look at the system, but that is very rarely needed.

I always move like a 100Ls away from the plane when I'm off to my first scanning target (if it is not in the immediate vicinity) to better see the paths and locations of the planets.
