Central America Pack

I thought it'd be cool if we ended up getting a Central America pack, which could make up for some missing SA species, and make more space for other species in the future NA pack. It could have species like the puma, ocellated turkey, manatee, sloth, capybara, howler monkey, and scarlet ibis. (Also realized the little white bat is from Central A, and it would make an adorable exhibit animal.) Not expecting all those animals of course, but as you can see there's a lot of options! Would you be happy with these? What would be your picks?

Personally I'd put the puma in the CA pack with the sloth, and leave room in the NA pack for the Arctic fox, Roosevelt elk or Alaskan moose, then aquatic species like the California Sea Lion, sea otter, beaver, walrus, or alligator snapping turtle.

My picks for a Central American Pack would probably be:
  • Black Howler Monkey
  • Ocelot
  • Brown-Throated Sloth or Northern Tamandua (Sloths could live with Anteaters; Tamandua would probably be easier to create)
  • American Crocodile (Crocodile could be alternative to American Alligator)
  • Central American Mud Turtle (Exhibit)
Edit: Removed Capybara because they don't live in Central America

I would love to see:

  • Capybara
  • Sloth
  • Maned wolf
  • Howler monkey
- And I would really love to see Emeral tree boa as an exhibit animal! Was kind of sad we did not get them in SA pack.

Just FYI neither the capybara or the maned wolf would appear in a 'Central America' Pack. Both are purely South American animals. Best bet for the capybara is some kind of wetlands pack to build off of the Aquatic Pack, not sure for the maned wolf. IMO you'd be looking at maybe a peccary, ocelot, howler monkey, and if we're extremely lucky then the sloth (we got lucky with the koala, so it's a possibility).

Really? I was looking at these maps I found on google for the capybara:

I figured the Northern reach of their range here counted as Central America, but these maps could also be wrong. Very true about the Maned Wolf though, it's definitely not a CA animal.

Edit: lol oops, I just realized the second map goes all the way down south... it's definitely not accurate.

I would've gone with Puma, Sloth, Howler Monkey, and Scarlet Ibis/Manatee anyway! :sneaky:

The first map is more accurate but IIRC they're more restricted to the Orinoco/Amazon/Uruguay basins and don't extend so far to the north and west. I'd prefer the ocelot to the puma for CA. The N. American cougar would make a great addition to a N. America Pack, but I think we need some smaller cats before we got more big ones (clouded leopard is the exception as a medium cat, god damn do I want a clouded leopard!).

The armadillo could also be a good CA choice. Small and compact but pretty iconic.
