These latest CG's i have followed with interest since the first plague on b2-02 4304, Many good Cmdrs did rally to the cause and we cured that system or so it seemed. It was not a week or so while i was away and shocked to hear on the next outbreak just where we had been. How could this be? previous infections were not so bad surely and now dubbed the Cerberus Plague with its three heads. Something didnt seem right.
While away from my ship looking at the data i looked back through the news reports of previous outbreaks which may be similar and found this isnt the first or last i fear and a pattern.
Now it seems the Cerberus is evolving and becoming more dangerous,
Origin is unknown but the first outbreak i find seemed to be in Ngaliba - Fullerton Horizons. nothing out of the ordinary back in Feb 6. That was cured in 4 days and we moved on with other things. Samples were sent to scientific databases we are told.
5 days later Volungu Blight appears, and not that far from the Ngaliba. It infects from Volungu to 3 systems. Liaedin Lhs 3505 and Furbaide.
This seemed more resiliant and until Aisling Duvals assistance with her Empire Doctors we are told all is cured.
14th April Hudson meets Reyan BPS in Mongan,Moisuc station to set up Medical contracts as well as 'other contracts'. I would assume to prevent future outbreaks and be prepared.
23rd May further afield towards empire space an infection at Persephone.They were saved with a great Community effort it would seem. Similar symptoms but so far from the original outbreak. Along with another far off outbreak earlier at He Bo on the 4th may. an incubation period or mutation period? . i assume it was evolving and adapting. It spread too far on that generation and was cured on both those fronts,, maybe there was a 3rd i do not know.
June 30th Outbreak on BD-02 4304. A massive effort from the Independant pilots saved most of those poor people. Having collected their paychecks they moved on.
July 14 Dajoar, Eleu and 20 Ophiuchi are infected. Somehow it bypassed quarantine or survived and lay dormant till it was ready to move on. I believe it has evolved again to survive our cures,, concentrating the infection area with 3 types of mutation, and the medicines becoming less effective.
Still being managed by local systems they quickly were overwhelmed and unable to tempt enough pilots to their cause. Pirates flocked to hawk off the brave few seemingly with an intent to spread the plague rather than pirate.
So far with the majority of worlds being Federation alligned with a few exeptions of 1 or 2 independant worlds, and liaedin ( empire, but ex federation world ) Many Federal citizens seem to be left alone to their own fate.
Previous outbreak samples are reported to have been sent to empire and fereral authorities but they seem to stay silent leaving the responsibilty to the charitable independant pilots who risk their lives.
With the outbreaks seemingly out of control i have retreated to observe the results to see if they may help , these 3 systems will have to be control experiments to see if we can find some solution or answers to Cerberus.
17 hours remain and there is no hope for the citizens,, let us hope their sactifice may help us, we need help to find a more effective cure. Bless them all, i fear a storm is coming and we better get prepared.
