Well, I'd rather they weren't "at the same time", as some of us have accounts in both the Bubble and Colonia. But otherwise, yes.
I'm a bit surprised why people move to Colonia and then want it to be exactly like the bubble.
Who’s asking for that? There are how many billions of stars in the game, right? You worried we might not fit or something?![]()
I just think it's a bit silly how often we see these demands.
The problem with that is that with the CGs so closely tied to the story, it'd be hard to reveal anything about a CG required for that sort of planning (e.g. "CG in <system> for <reward>" or even "no CG in 3 weeks time") without also making at least some future plot events pretty obvious. In a game where you can go off in any direction and just keep going on a.....Star Trek, finding strange new worlds etc etc (exploration), it would be nice if the CGs were mapped 4 weeks in advance - so if something is exclusive like paint jobs (that may not be available again), it gives you the chance to return for the event.
Good point, maybe just list the rewards so not to give away the story/plots?The problem with that is that with the CGs so closely tied to the story, it'd be hard to reveal anything about a CG required for that sort of planning (e.g. "CG in <system> for <reward>" or even "no CG in 3 weeks time") without also making at least some future plot events pretty obvious.
On the other hand on the current pattern you can probably guess:
...because most of them are like that.
- the next CG will be in or near the bubble
- it will offer some sort of reward that's either difficult or impossible to get another way
(One workaround is to buy a cheap alt in the next sale and use that for exploring instead)
Although I was aware of the different options you listed, I appreciate the time you took to list those options, thank you.Well, if you're out in the black and a CG pops up that you really want to participate in, there are several options:
1. Neutron-jumping to get back. Not viable out in the galactic boonies (neutron stars too far apart), but in the central regions you can move pretty swiftly in giant 300ly leaps.
2. Self-destruct and choose the starting Sidewinder back in the Bubble. A couple of obvious drawbacks, you lose your exploration data and your ship. If you visit your nearest DSSA Carrier first, you could at least offload your data.
3. Park your exploration ship, take a stock Sidewinder (or similar cheap expendable ship), and self-destruct in that. This requires access to a station with a shipyard, or a Carrier that sells ships, or a Carrier (maybe your own, or maybe someone else's) where you have an expendable ship waiting for this purpose. My main CMDR keeps an unengineered iEagle on his Carrier for exactly this reason.
4. Hitch a lift on a Carrier. Probably not viable unless you're needing to get from Colonia to the Bubble, or vice versa.
5. Wait and hope. Frontier have started to make special CG modules available again in later CG's, followed by a means of getting them (with some effort) after the CG. So if that's what you were after, you might get lucky.
