I haven't played ED in awhile, so I fired it up this weekend (when most working folk play games) in hopes to participate in the latest CG. I was surprised to learn that the CG is already over. So ten minutes later, I exit the game, disappointed. Looks like I'm going back to playing Space Engineers!
It is poor management to start a CG at the beginning or in the middle of the week, especially if the target is so low that the CG will end before the weekend when most people are available to play. This is not the first time, mind you. The fix is simple - have CGs start on Friday night or Saturday morning (perhaps at 0:00 game time), allowing everyone to at least contribute something to the CG before it's over. This is especially important for CGs tied to Interstellar Initiatives, as these tend to be bigger game-changing events than the old CGs.
So much for a fun weekend COMMUNITY event. I guess CGs are only for retired old people who have all week long to play the game....
(Yes, I'm feeling salty)
