Hardware & Technical CH Combatstick & ProThrottle - Help

Replaced my X52 with these CH devices, due to poor quality build problems, but although windows sees the CH devices in "Devices and printers" two symbols for each rather than in Device Manager under "Sound Video and Game controllers".

ED allows me to allocate the Buttons, Tophats etc. But it fails to see the throttle and the joystick axis movements as variables. If it does see them it sees them as switches and only acknowledges 100% movement position.

How do I get it to work correctly?

Or probably more truthful "What am I doing wrong?"

Forgot to say Game/options/controls fails to see the devices, what I could do was done on basic joystick (or whatever it is called)

Your set is in the MAPPED (and you don't have the mapping done yet) mode now and you want it to be in the DIRECT mode.

Download software from CH site.
Run CH Control Manager
Run MAP WIZARD, select what devices you have.
Follow Wizards steps.
Make sure DIRECT mode is selected. (3 dots connected with separate lines to the bar icon).

Mapped mode is for old games that have issues with multiple controllers.

Thanks for that, making progress but having a few problems, which I am trying to sort out, when time allows.

Could also be you have the game bindings for 'pitch up' set to one way and down to another, instead of having the axis bound property.

The x and y movements are ok, but the z (throttle) is reversed. But no progressive control, nothing until you hit max. Also tophat position I set up to reverse main thrusters doesn't work, but the other three positions do.

But the odd thing is, and I have not tried to set it up, it just works is the mini joystick (mouse type thing) good for strafing.

I'm probably giving up on these and spending even more on Wharthog. GPU will have to wait until August.

Discovered what the problem is. Due to the age of CH products they need to be connected to USB2 port, problems when connected to USB3.
Therefore I need USB2 hub as I have only one USB2 socket available. Annoying as I have about 6 free USB3 and 3.1 skts.

A similar problem occurs with the wharthog I am informed.
