TLDR at the end
JWE2 Challenge Mode brings in unique limits and threats for each Challenge Map, and while that is a good idea to make each Challenge very interesting as each Challenge in JWE1 played out the exact same, it is INCREDIBLY limiting for people (like me) who want to go back and play these maps just regularly. What if I want access to Carnivores, want to modify genomes, and want to play in Germany? Well I simply cannot, unless I play Sandbox, but Sandbox is simply unsatisfying for me, I enjoyed playing Challenge Mode as my sandbox. You can't even access all species in the maps. It's so needless to remove so much of what provided a ton of replayability in the first game.
JWE2 really lacks some sort of just,, normal centralized hub you can build up and keep playing in. Like your Survival World in Minecraft, or the Islands in JWE1, or the Challenges in JWE1 if you play them just to build a park as the game intended with having to build profit and steadily progressing. You can't really do that,,,, ANYWHERE in this game. The campaign refuses to let you stay in it and keep playing because it's not at it's core designed like that, Chaos Theory is pretty good but only has three maps that allow this, two of them are locked in JP era and one of them is locked in JW era. Challenge Mode would be perfect if you could play it like the first game, as a world to just build up and progress in as you wish without the infinite power of God because that is just boring and not satisfying.
TLDR, I think after we beat a Challenge for the first time, we should be able to then go back to that Challenge and customize the risks and limits to our desire, and maybe even let us select the Era we play in to give us allot of replayability and have allot more options in how we can play the game.
