Do FDev and Community managers even bother to read the Forums during holidays or are we just fools throwing words like dust in the wind or rather in the void during this time? who knows... anyway in light of a recent D2EA video (link below), some questions arise.
Why after the Odyssey launch Fiasco, Frontier's communications hasn't fully changed to be open with the community yet?
It improved from the previous non existent one? Sure but we still struggle to get things clear.
I understand Cloak and Dagger secrecy for things like Scorpion and FC interiors and things like that. But why Secrecy to things that can be heavily gameplay related like these limpets? (And to be honest the Scorpion and FC interiors can be very relevant too! we really don't need so much teasing if the final result will give us things like these limpets that will require change due to lack of testing.)
Don't Frontier's know community can help? Instead we get new limpets so flawed and bad that hardly anybody will use! Just a module that will exist in the game as a reminder of time wasted development if not changed.
So here some suggestions:
Be more clear with community when bringing the good things in the game! (sure the things ED community mines best in the game isn't LTD or Void opals or Painite; It's Salt!!!) but still does not justify the saying "that's why we can't have good things". Nobody will ever agree mutually on stuff but if FDev would start to ask some opinions maybe they could get better results than what we get now. Even if FDev keeps with teasing and secrecy, go a head and make pools and such in the forums so you can collect information! I believe that Bruce did something like that a few months ago. It could be pools where FDev could say "what if this or that would get in the game how do you think it should be" for example.
This would allow for collecting information on how the community feels and maybe some very constructive arguments and suggestions that could be used in order to release new stuff and features in a good shape.
Now as for the Limpets themselves... this is what we have:
Just like mentioned in the video, add more info on which limpets exist in said multi limpet; then have scroll down showing the stats for each individual limpet instead of showing a misleading one with infinite lifetime for example, or make the stats of all the limpets in said multi controller to be standardized in regards of things like duration and speed.
As for the sizes and grades.
We know that in order to keep the individual ones relevant, the multi has to be inferior in some regards, but right now they are too inferior! they are Un-engineerable, super heavy, draw more power and worst of all being Grade C!
for Size 3 we should get Grade A! If Un-engineerable don't make it to be so extremely more heavy and not draw so much more power. If engineerable specially with light weight which is what everybody prefers, the standard weight can be as it is so after G5 engineering it would still be slightly heavier than G5 on individual limpet; but make the main drawback be that they integrity is a bit worse than when engineering an individual limpet!
For Mining Limpet and in Universal Limpet Fix these issues pointed in the video regarding the prospector and collector loop! (by far that's what make FDev looks bad as ppl who don't play their own game! So FIX that!)
and finally Please add size 5 grade A of these multi limpets! the Universal can remain as 7 only but add 5 for the others! with the same drawbacks I suggested for non engineerable or if engineerable.
Also For Rescue Limpets along side the Repair, Hatch Breaker and Fuel Transfer add the Collector! What's the point of hatch breaking a Cutter to free slaves of the Empire Scum if you have to collect the escape pod manually and potentially smash their heads with your ship? So yeah Rescue needs to have these 4 to even make sense.
What's your opinions fellow miners? Agree with these suggestions? have improvements on it? Maybe lets keep this one upvoted so FDev can see and maybe just maybe prevent these Limpets to be a wasted effort and becoming a Memento Mori to their dignity. Harsh words to say? Maybe; but this is a love/hate relationship between FDev and Community but we're still here cuz we keep trying to turn into love lol.
