The current trade community goal formula, of simply adding up the tons of each delivered cargo type, equally rewards simple mass cargo as much as difficult to acquire thargoid bits. Let "n" be the number of different types of cargo accepted, "t" be total tonnage achieved, and "c1","c2"..."cn" be the amount delivered of each cargo type. Currently the formula is as follows:
t = c1 + c2 + ... + cn
I propose changing it too
t = n * ((c1 * c2 * ... * cn) ^ (1 / n))
Note that these two formulas have the same result if all the tonnages are equal.
A contributors contribution of ranking purposes can then be determined by adding up the percentage of each commodity they contribute.
For community goals where it's expected some cargo will be difficult to acquire, the thresholds should be brought down.
This approach will ensure that all parts of a community goal are appropriately awarded without requiring balancing factors to be determined (which may be difficult to guess beforehand)
