Change of Station flight traffic control? Would have been nice to know...

So log into elite tonight, forgot I was out bounty hunting. Check local rez site for potential PvP issues... Nothing. That's the good part. Enter super cruise... One player that either high waked or low waked, no PvP targets on scanner. This is also good, not looking to do PvP tonight. Enter the station like normal... Dock check missions, check passengers. Hmm... Found a passenger mission I like. So I switch over to my Beluga. Everything is fine, pick up the mission plot my course and undock.

Sure enough the passengers wanted to change their destination. Me aware that I can not block the pad now that I have undocked, gently ease the ship into the middle of the station. Okay normally I have 5 minutes to leave the station, so I go to my passengers and open the galaxy map to update my route. As soon as I am done doing this (approximately 20 seconds) I get the trespassing alarm. You have 30 seconds to vacate the area... Mind you I am no where near the entrance to the station and I am not blocking any pads. As I am flying a Beluga I can not simply boost my way out with several ships entering the station.

Managed to clear the mail on the outside but due to the length of the Beluga the back of the ship had just barely passed the grating on the outside, but this was still unacceptable according to flight control.

Beluga was lost with all hands on board, plus the 18 passengers that were paying me roughly 1 million credits to get to the destination.

You day why not leave the station then update the route? There happened to be commanders here at this time. So I was using the station for a place to safely update my route.

I guess this is what I get for finding "Branden" asking questions at the station. (As I play on Xbox I can't easily show proof of this but it's 100% true.) Next time I will avoid the "Branden" at all costs. Probably should not have taken that damn picture...

There are rare occasions, when after changing ships in a station, as you leave the docking pad your scanner does not change from the docked / docking graphic to the standard sensor, and when this happens, regardless of how fast you leave the the station you will get infractions. If you leave fast enough, no problem, but if you were hanging around doing other things I suspect it could be a problem.

It's a bug, so I suggest you submit a ticket to support who can look in your logs and see what happened.

You can do anything you need in supercruise. Sitting around inside the station is always a bad idea, especially in Open. You also could have logged, been back on the pad and made your changes. I know that's not real immersive but it beats a rebuy for that ship.

I NEVER respond to those change destination requests, they are never worth the few extra credits. I just close the email and head to the original deztination and complete the mission as normal, nothing happens, and I get paid all the same.

same as demands for goods, request moved into File 13 and on you go no worries about princess wanting 3 tons of face cream

What is Branden? Anyways, if you're 100% sure you were there less than 5 minutes then petition it. At the very least you'll get rebuy back. Only other thing I could say about this is that you should just exit the station, and double low-wake if in danger. Should give you plenty of time to plot route.
