Change placement of the Bridge on the Nautilus-class fleet carrier

One of the four Carrier layouts having it's bridge ahead of the docking pads is good for choice, before Carrier interiors Nautilus was my preferred carrier type because there was nothing in the way of docking (approaching from the rear). Since interiors were added I've switched to the Fortune class.

Since the carrier interior is standardised across all four types and only it's location is different I propose a rear viewing window or screen be added to all rather than changing the Nautilus class's bridge location. There is a large round port to the rear of the Bridge superstructure that could be converted to a viewing area.

A cheap solution would be flipping the bridge around so it faces backwards. A proper solution would be having a separate backwards viewing area in addition to the forward facing bridge. A different sort of layout.

2 things.
1. The bar should have windows facing the landing pads.
2. There should be a second tower on Carriers. You should be able to view the jump, and also whatever else is outside the windows, from at least these 2 locations.
3. Make a bunch more locations to do stuff in. During the video in December, they had multiple locations to choose for the elevator to go to. They dwindled it down to one because...well, they're FDev.

I've also suggested two extra areas, one could be at the rear of the bridge. For all other carriers that would be a regular rear view. But for the nautilus it would be the landing area. That place could be the owners private quarters. A good place to respawn to the carrier when logging on etc.

The second extra area i suggested is a weapons test area. There you can test the weapons, accuracy, recoil, effect etc. I miss having such place with easy access.

All other fleet carrier classes has the bridge placed behind the landing docks. With that design the owner and crew can sit at the bridge and keep an eye on the traffic. But since the bridge on the Nutilus-class carrier is placed in front of the carrier, the entire docking are is hidden from the bridge.
Victory class exists. Ur fault u got nautilus. Get victory and u got a rear bridge centered.

I wish i could go here. Have a place for me and my team like quarters. They could just pull the assets from the hab zones on settlements.

Nope.

But, add back windows with seats looking backward would be nice & fun :)

Well technically yes, but at the moment once the CMDR is in the ship on foot there isn't any traffic.

Oh, I hadnt noticed that. I dont have an FC yet. So, is it NPC traffic only, not really attached to "local" space, like station concourses are, but just NPC animations? Even still, being able to see the landing ports should always be available. Same with outposts. Some outposts, whichever port you can see, isnt very active, but it really should be. But if thats impossible, it'd be great hearing why.

As far as I am aware that's the case, I think once you leave your ship and go on foot in the FC the instance changes and that stops the NPC ships spawning. Whether or not it's something that can be addressed by FDEV I have no idea.

I always suspect they try the way we'd like it to be, because that's what makes sense, but then it breaks or doesn't run smooth or something, and they end up having to resort to these other ways. And then they have to hear us suggest all these things they're already tried. And if thats the case, I keep hoping they actually show how it breaks. I feel like they're always at their limits.

Just pick a different carrier layout. The Nautilus is the only one with a unique bridge position.

Doesn't one have the bridge to the left side of the Fleet Carrier, I remember seeing it on a youtube video.

Ah yes, just checked, the Fortune Class carrier has the tower to the left clear center landing pads.

Good to know, I stand corrected. Regardless, Nautilus is the only one in front of the pads. It isn't hard to pick a different one.

They are all good, as of today (for me). I am for adding more windows/views/angles, but I would not change the bridge view.

For me, Nautilus and Fortune have the best views right now.

I've been pondering changing my layout to Nautilus, the lack of view over the landing pads might have been an issue, but there's nothing to see, no ships ever land there, so unless they change that it really makes no difference. Choice is good, leave them as they are!
