change the shops that are in a building?

For example, I have the Caribbean Gift shop which by default had 3 hat shops in it (which are all doing abysmal because who needs 3 hat shops side by side). Is there an easy way to change which shops are in a building? The only place I could find most of the new brands I researched are in the custom tab, which are just standalone square stalls, is there no easy way to add them to existing buildings... especially ones that default to multiples of the same shop?

Feel like I have to be overlooking something obvious, but googling this game isn't terribly effective yet, so any help would be appreciated.

Delete the shops you don't want.
Sometimes you have to go "inside" the building to do so, if other scenery is in the way of selection.

Ok thanks. Seems a bit counter-intuitive, especially with all multi-shop buildings defaulting to the same things, makes them near useless without editing... Thought there might've been a way to 'hot swap' them. Build the building, click shop 1, change it, etc. but no such luck.

Is there no way other than to remove the shop (detach -> delete) and add a new one (deselect building, select to build a custom shop, manually shove it into place with "add to building" enabled? It is quite the cumbersome process. How about a button in a shop "change to a different shop type"? And then it would directly replace it.

Well crap![ugh] I was really hoping there was an easier way than that. I can never seem to grab the original shop, only the things around it, and then when I eventually do I can never get the new shop lined up.

close >> change shop type >> open is very much on my wish list for the next patch.

The way shops have been implemented is a bit strange from the user perspective - given that they are all the same sized box with different interiors, why not just have one shop element that you add to the building and in the UI select which shop type it is. The swapping of different models for the different interiors could then be transparent to the user.

I have found a clever trick to do when you are having trouble selecting an item (be it shop or something else) that you can not easily reach. If you select the wrong thing, just hit delete and try again, another wrong thing? hit delete again. and repeat until you have the right thing. When you do select what you want, just press undo the number of times you deleted things. Now you have the item you wanted selected and the stuff you deleted is back. Now you can do what you want with what you have selected (delete, move, copy, whatever).

This is no so good if you select and delete a track ride or coaster, you will have to retest them if you do. But it works well for building and scenery items.
