change throttle max in station

how about when you are in the docking procedure, your throttle no longer goes up to 100%? clearly it cannot be used inside a station, and it causes lots of problems with docking for new users.

maybe have it set so that you can only use 25% of the throttle when inside a station.

Can't agree here - if you want to limit your throttle in stations - deploy your landing gear and switch all power from ENG to SYS and WEP.

With landing gear extended performance is cut in half anyway; a noob mode to increase the difference should be feasible.

The feature is already implemented, although I personally totally don't approve it. The throttle is limited to 50% with your landing gear or cargo scoop deployed as well as boost is disabled.

2nd the landing gear - deploy them early if you want to reduce your throttle. I enjoy the risk and thrill of boosting at full throttle through the station entry/exit. NO, it doesn't always work out, and it can be expensive, but I still enjoy it.

3rd or 4th or whatever the landing gear. Just drop that... Doesn't make sense to govern your throttle in a station. does your car go slower in a parking lot?

Bingo. Drop landing gear and your ship's maximum throttle drops (you can do this in combat, too, combined with optimal turn rate throttle range).

Throttle down. There's no need to fly at max throttle all the time. YOU have complete control over your throttle.

Whoa, wait a minute...

You mean there's more than "Full" and "None" for throttle? This opens up a whole new game: throttle control. I bet it also affects that game called: maneuverability.

I just lower my gear as I enter or just before if the pad is just inside the entrance (I have a map)
It slows me down, prevents accidental boost and generally helps lessen the chance of 'oh noes' moments
I always have a finger over my 0% thrust button

I usually lower my landing gear before I even approach the station entrance. Doing so allows me greater control over not hitting things that don't need to get hit. It allows me to stay slow enough to immediately align myself with any pad in the station, including the pads immediately surrounding the entrance.

My favorite thing about this game is learning how to control your ship better. Deploy landing gear, switch pips accordingly, and use the throttle/thrusters wisely and you will be parking like a pro in no time, and feel great about it! Plus, I need that full throttle for ramming people into their docks while they are landing :p
