Change to the imperial clipper

this isn’t a hard change, just move the clippers hardpoints from where they are, to the nose. That’s it, that’s all you have to do. It’ll become one of the best thargoid fighting ships and it’ll be locked behind progression, which is actually good

It's not hard, it only requires them to re-do the whole model and animations.
they literally copy and paste the size 2 slots they have on the bottom, paste them on the front, and delete the animations they have for the size 3 slots. done -_- its so easy even i could do it, and i dont even know how to animate.

I personally think changing existing ships is the wrong way to go, it basically means everyone everywhere no matter how far from any sort of workshop gets a re-engineered ship and while yes it's a game, it sounds silly, it should only be done for the most important of reasons, like changing the planetary landing suite for the advanced version. If you want to say, have all Clippers purchased from x date have the changes that's fine, but I don't think the changes should be extrapolated backwards in time to all ships purchased in the past!

what are you going on about? Its just moving the hardpoints from the wings and the super wide ones on the bottom to the nose. You dont have to do anything with any of the enginnered weapons or modules.

No, leave it alone. Make one thing better, something will need to be made worse to compensate. It has it's shortcomings, sure but its flaws are part of the charm. If you want fixed weapons, you already have a Chief or FAS at the same price range.
dude it has so many shortcomings it just needs a straight buff. Its got bad shields, its got REALLY bad hard points, it barely carries more cargo than the krait mk2, its NOT a medium ship (which it should be) its not got good hull. Its actually quite a bad ship if you look at it statistically, also its acceleration is bad as well.

The cutter does not have such good mobility, obviously it does not mean that I am not using it at the moment for thargoids, haha, but I think it will be easier to add an 8A module in impellers to the Corvette than to modify the hard points to the cutter

clipper=/=cutter

I love the clipper, I built one for thargoid combat but it did not work for me, since the weapons are super off-center

Pros:

Fastest and most maneuverable large ship by far.

22 million CR pricetag/cheap rebuy.

Luxurious look, feel and sound. Arguably the nicest looking and sounding ship in ED.

Can be outfitted for any role, and excels at core mining.

Is far more combat-capable than people suggest. It can fly circles around a Conda or even a Vette. Convergence/DPS becomes less of an issue with more time on target. NPCs flying Clippers don't do them justice.

It worries about masslock about as much as a Cutter. It can outrun almost anything, and the few smaller ships it can't outrun won't be able to masslock it.

It's Shields are actually great. They blow any medium sized Fed ship's (with a similar pricetag) Shields away, and the Class 7 slot means if you go with biweaves the regen is insanely fast.

Wide, open cockpit with a clear view.

Good optional internals. Maybe not as good as other large ships, but they can't boost to 620m/s and don't have a 60+ degree pitch rate.

Cons:

Bad convergence for fixed weapons.

Can't fit on medium pads. It wasn't actually ever meant to, but because the community has a problem with it, I listed it as a con.

The canopy is more vulnerable than most combat ships.

DPS isn't great compared to other Large, or even Medium, combat vessels.

It's a little drifty.

Summary:

It's fine. shrugs

Seriously though, the iClipper has slowly become my favorite ship in the game.

The only thing i would want for my Clipper would be an extra size 5 optional internal, to give it a little more utility and improve its cargo capabilities.

The Krait Mk2 can do 222t cargo tops with size 3 scratch proof shields, Python can do 286t and T7 can do 302t
Currently the iClipper can do 242t tops in the same config. And it's a Large Ship.
With an extra size 5 it would do 276t. Still under the Python, but at least at a better distance from Krait Mk2 and would give it 10 slots for some extra flavors.

Let me repeat, if players purchase a ship with certain features they shouldn't be changed retrospectively because that's not how things should work. If you want things changed then that should be a different ship of slightly different design. No flattening every existing T7 in the galaxy so they will all suddenly fit on pads they can't fit on currently and no moving stuff around that would require major reconstruction of the superstructure of a ship. Yes they are pixels, but they are pixels that represent real ships of a specific design with hard points placed where they are during construction.

I always thought the Clipper needs better shields, is a waste of a class 7 prismatics given the amount of shields you actually get.
They do regen fast, but again, you are still a pretty darn big target, less armor and armor hardness than Chieftain, not as agile, and less firepower.

Is still a pretty darn cool ship, awesome to fly, and with engineering combat is more than decent.
Haven't setup mine for mining, as already have a Python that does it better, albeit lacking style :)

I have super mixed feelings with this ship, because I do enjoy it a lot lol... BUT, others medium (Krait, Python, Chief) do their respective roles for ME much better.
So one extra class 4 or 5 slot and better shields would do it for me, just so it actually feels like a Large ship.

But this thing is gorgeous, I just love staring at it.
