Changes to sensors in 1.2

Hi,

After the latest update I see that the sensor display in my ASP has changed and not for the better.:(

Before when I checked the ships in my sensors I saw the full info on each ship in range in the window on the left off the screen, except for those marked unknown of course.

Now, sometimes just the ships type comes up, occasionally the full info but there seems to be no logic when the full info will be displayed.

The windows seems to open to 2 lines then collapses back to 1 line.

Is this now a change or a new bug please?

Could someone please explain how the sensors actually work now?

Hi Aussiedroid,

Well yes, but up until 1.2 each time I targeted a ship all the known info came up, now a lot of the ships do not have any info other than the type of ship.

Some however do have all the info but it seems random.

I'll get a screen shot and post it up.

My best guess is that the targeting is now more focussed perhaps and only picks up more details when they are in a position to be scanned to get the info?

Whereas before it was a broader approach but I haven't seen anything in the change log that mentions this alteration so I wondered if it is a bug.

Yep, that was changed in 1.2.
Before you start scanning a ship the only thing you'll see on the left hud is the shiptype. Stuff like pilotname, faction, wantedstatus and if its a wing only start to show if you scan the target.

Hi Enakaji,

Thanks very much for the info.

Although I thought the targeting automatically scanned?

I'll have to check and see if it needs a key binding but it is odd as some ships show up fully scanned but some don't.

It may be the way the scanner is focued more now perhaps?

Whether or not they show up fully scanned has to do with your relationship to their faction I believe. Ships belonging to factions I'm allied with share their details with me, ships of other factions need to be scanned.

That appears to be how it works anyway.
