Newcomer / Intro Changing Field of View

I've noticed this since i started playing, but i's only started to get annoying during game splay now that i am doing a spot of bounty hunting.

When I accelerate/decelerate my filed of view of the cockpit changes so I can see less/more of the available displays. Is there a way of stopping it changing the perspective in the cockpit whilst I'm flying, and if possible give me a wider field of view.

I know that you can "look" around in the cockpit, but I've got no idea how to set that up or use it. If it helps I am using a Warthog HOTAS, but this effect was prevalent whilst playing with mouse/keyboard.

There's a slider in the graphics options - slide it all the way to the right to max the FoV. I understand that this fixes that particular issue (or makes it less distracting anyway - it's annoying when you can't see the throttle indicator and the bottom half of the scanner), and I'm not in-game to check.

It can be a bit of a pain, I know. Personally I like all the in-cockpit effects, but restricting your view is a bit much.

I use Left Shift to make the view wider temporarily, when I need to. That gives you back the "full screen".

You'll get plenty of advice re: HOTAS from others who use it.

i just knew it would be something obvious that i have ..... obviously ..... not seen.

That's what i love about this community, there may be a bit of whinging but there's always someone who's worked out what you haven't.

You can also change the FOV manually in your settings.xml found in C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics
look for: <FOV>62.000000</FOV>

Thanks for that, but supplemental silly questions to that is I assume the that value is the FoV in degrees, and what is the maximum?
