Changing Languages

I was thinking of this last night as I dozed off. Here seems like a good place to ask.

So has anyone ever loaded the game and changed the language of the ships computer to one they dont know?

My thoughts were they would then leave the station pretending they're on the run and just broke into and took a random ship to escape in, only to discover it was owned by a different language speaker, then try to learn what the computer is saying. Use of online resources could be allowed I guess otherwise you'd never even get the landing gear up

Sounds like fun. Way too advanced for me but I might do it some day.

The six foreign-language COVASses are free, so sure, why not? I've tried the Brazilian lady (don't speak Portuguese at all) and the German dude (did five years of German in high school with very little practical aptitude to show for it), just for a laugh. Didn't keep them for more than a single trip.

Having a vehicle that speaks to you in a foreign language you don't know isn't as much fun as it might sound. Here on 21st century Earth, my church owns a second-hand bus which had been imported by its previous owner direct from Japan. I can play CDs on it but I have no idea how to eject the CD and swap it out for another, as the eject button is one of several dozen buttons labelled in Japanese. I was driving it once and it suddenly started speaking, in Japanese of course. No idea what the problem was, and it eventually stopped. Nobody died, so I guess it wasn't a serious problem.
