Changing Modules Happens Too Fast

Elite Dangerous has always promise to be a game with realism and a high level of immersion but I have recently noticed a serious problem with it that would actually be very easy to fix.

Any time you change modules on your ship such as FSD module or different weapons on your hard points it happens almost instantly which IMO is absurdly unrealistic.

There should be a delay of at least 5 minutes and as many as 100 minutes depending on the size of the module and whether it is internal or external to represent how long it takes the workers to fit the new module and make sure it works.

Please support this beneficial idea we can make the game so much more immersive.

how about reducing elite to .0000000000001% of current speed? that ought to help with making elite a perfect yawn fest.

The only thing that happens faster then changing modules is the speed in which it takes the "make everyone wait because I like immersion and I don't care for anyone else but me" people to respond to obvious bait while claiming superiority because they were so smart to take obvious troll bait.

most of these pitstops are faster than what the transaction servers are able to pull off.

If you want realism, how about you go on patrols every day for hours and see nothing... Or you sit around on the pad waiting to be scrambled... For hours! And when you do get scrambled to intercept, it will be some trader who is lost and forgot to use his comms... Exciting? No, but realistic.

Sorry, I prefer to play a game and not sitting at the pad with more time sinks.

"a delay of at least 5 minutes and as many as 100 minutes" Hmmmnnn... Now where have I seen that before? I think I saw that on some poll somewheres....

So 5 mins to change a gun...Hmmm........Would it take about a week to get a perfect paint job on a Asp then ,that's if you pre-ordered the skin of course ;)

I agree with the issues you brought up, more can be done to make the game more immersive.

Oh yeah... Well with scheduling delays and all and of course you'd be put back behind emergency repairs for a mere paint job... But don't worry!!! We've got a loaner for cheap! Only 1999 credits a day for this snazzy (base) sidewinder. Oh don't mind the dents and dings she's a real gem! Remember to return the tank full or you will be charged for it.

They dont need to have animations of the workers putting in and testing the new modules to make sure they all work but they should approximate it by having a timer countdown like you can watch it countdown from 10:00 minutes to 0:00 while they are doing it.

I got this game i thought it would be a realistic immersive space simulator.
