Changing Ship Paint

I don’t mind purchasing ship paint packs knowing that it helps support the development of ED but having to only change ship paint in a station is a pain. I am out on a Planet surface trying to get a screen shot and find out the shot needs a different color ship to look good or just want to see what it would look like with different ship colors. You just know what condition you may find so it’s hard to plan ahead for a great screen shot.
I plan on going out on a exploring trip and I am not looking forward to only having one ship color for a couple of months. Fdevs how about letting us change our ship paint color from our ship and not only in stations. Or how about having ship color lipids…

Lets petition FD for the immediate creation of ship detailing limpets - not only with the paint your ship even in witchspace but will clean your windscreens to a sparkly gleam

Have you not seen all that dust when flying thru space? A paint job would look absolutely atrocious if it was done in the proper facility!

I'm happy with the current in station system.

But i also see where the OP is coming from, the game lets you change your gender and entire look while in flight so its fairly inconstant to let you change your commander look anywhere but not your ship look.
